Weekly 2027 Draft Eligible Three Stars
Kohyn Eshkawkogan | RHD | Ottawa 67’s (OHL)
Manitoulin Island native Kohyn Eshkawkogan finished the 2025-26 season as the third-highest-scoring player among 2027 draft-eligible players in the OHL. Only Saginaw’s Levi Harper (57 points) and Dima Zhilkin (75 points) outdid the right-handed defender’s 53 points (eight goals, 45 assists) last year.
The 5-foot-11, 183-pound rearguard has had a slower start statistically to his draft year. The Penn State commit for 2027-28 has one goal and nine assists through 15 games, which paces for only 41 points.
The mobile, puck-moving defender helped up his point total this week. He picked up four points (one goal, three assists) in three games.
Starting the week against the Brampton Steelheads, Eshkawkogan picked up his first goal of the campaign. Jumping up in the rush to create an odd-man advantage, the Little Current, ON, native went straight to the front of the net. While providing a screen for the goalie, the puck tipped off him and in for a 4-1 Ottawa lead. He added a secondary assist in the third period.
In the next game of the week, Eshkawkogan and the 67’s played a hard-fought battle with the Brantford Bulldogs. Despite having seven shots, the 67’s leader in average time on ice per game this season was held off the scoresheet.
Finally, Eshkawkogan picked up a pair of assists in a 7-6 overtime win for Ottawa over the Oshawa Generals. He had a secondary assist on the 67’s second goal of the game as the 67’s took an early 2-0 lead. However, the Generals came roaring back and scored four straight to make it 4-2. After some more back and forth early in the third period, Oshawa held a 6-4 lead. Handed a power play, Eshkawkogan fired a wrist shot through some traffic that was tipped in to draw the 67’s within one.
