CSKA Moskva · KHL

Krasnaya Armiya Moskva · MHL

This is a strong class for Russia, with many high-end prospects, and Yakushev is no exception. While he might not have the same game-breaking ability as some of the other Russians, including Nazar Privalov, Sergei Skvortskov, and Andrei Pustovoi, he is still a very impactful prospect. His projection currently stands as a 2nd-rounder; with this early success, it could push him up to a late first-round pick.
The skilled Russian forward is the number 6 ranked player on the Draft Prospect Hockey board and the second-ranked left winger behind fellow Russian Nazar Privalov.
Privalov is one of those prospects that brings everything to the table. At just 17 years of age, his frame is incredibly developed. He stands at 6-4, 205 pounds and is able to impact the game in various ways. Privalov utilizes his frame exceptionally well, able to supplement the lack of offensive production at the KHL level thus far. He bumps players and wins battles to earn the puck back, but has not been able to cash in as of yet.
Despite failing to record a point with CSKA Moskva so far, Privalov does have a history of dynamic offensive ability. He registered 30 goals in the MHL a year ago, on the back of 26 points in nine games in U-17. Additionally, Privalov is getting the young-Russian treatment of limited ice time with CSKA, so an expanded opportunity over time should be beneficial to his raw output. Make no mistake, though, all of the tools are there and whichever team is lucky to have Privalov in their lap is going to walk out very pleased with their selection.
2 – Nazar Privalov
Privalov is an absolute force of a player, a player that any team would be ecstatic to have on their team. After torching the MHL last season with 30 goals, he looks to perform and prove himself in a pro environment, the KHL will undoubtedly test him, but I believe he is more than up for the challenge. At 6’4, he plays a very heavy game, and looks to use his size to his advantage whenever he can, he has a very impressive skating ability for his size, something that interests me so much is how he plays like a small forward, he is always open, always able to separate from defenders and find himself wide open for an opportunity, he plays with so much energy, tenacity and personality, traits that bigger forwards like himself lack very often.
