2027 NHL Draft Prospect Report – Oliver Ozogany (F)
Oliver Ozogany
Saint John Sea Dogs. Left shot F. 6’2” / 203
DOB: January 16, 2009
Ozogany is a forward with good size and some appealing tools, but none have consistently translated into a major impact yet. He is a fairly powerful skater with good straight-line speed and can generate some force through his crossovers. He also owns a decent release and has shown he can make simple, effective passes when given time and space.
My main concern is that Ozogany has not consistently driven play in a mostly bottom-six role with Saint John, and his ice time has decreased as the season has progressed. His board play is adequate; he is strong enough to hold his own along the walls, but his touch and ability to consistently come away with possession could improve. Given his 6’2”, 203-pound frame, I would also like to see him become more physically assertive and use his size more often to influence shifts. He also needs to find ways to put himself in better scoring positions and create more opportunities to utilize his release.
At this point, Ozogany looks like a potential late-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft. His size, straight-line speed and shot may be enough for a team to take a chance on him, but he will need to become more involved and increase his production as the season progresses. I also would not be surprised to see him go undrafted if his role and impact remain at their current level.
