Morrison’s sophomore AHL season saw him score 14 goals and add 27 assists for 41 points in 71 games. He featured on the powerplay, providing 15 points with the man advantage, and took just under two shots per game. He appeared to gain confidence as the season progressed, as 27 of his points came from January onward. Look for Morrison to continue skating in Coachella Valley, and he could be a call-up for Seattle if they meet some injury troubles. He could end up being a third-line centre if he can continue developing his skills and earn a spot with the big club.

After being passed over in the NHL Draft three times, Morrison has signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Seattle Kraken. The 20-year-old centerman has had a prolific junior career in the OHL. In 222 games over five seasons, he has scored 111 goals and 273 points, including a 94-point campaign this season between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Ottawa 67’s. Morrison will now return his focus to his current playoff run with the Ottawa 67’s, where he already has ten points in five games, as they look to earn a berth in the Memorial Cup.

Morrison was not selected in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Morrison passed through the 2020 NHL Draft without a selection. He will re-enter the draft in 2021.
