Dominated the NCAA scoring goals at will, and though he did not capture the championship (or the Hobey Baker), he did win back-to-back World Junior goals, captaining the year two squad. He played in the NHL regular season and playing, scoring one goal in nine games. He factors in to be the 3rd line RW and a Calder candidate, if he can get more ice time.

Leonard was named the “Player of the Year” for Hockey East in 2024-25. The award was not unexpected the way he has played this season.

Leonard was named the 2024-25 Hockey East Scoring champion with 46 points in 34 games, 29 of those being goals. He was also awarded the Three Stars award from Hockey East. The next step is playoff battles and then likely signing a contract with the Capitals and getting in some NHL games. Pat Quinn

Leonard was named the Hockey East Player of the Month for January after putting up 11 points, 10 of them being goals, in eight games for Boston College. He was also named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week for the last week of January after a late week hat-trick. Leonard currently leads the NCAA in goals with 23 goals in 25 games, and eight of those are game winning goals, which he also leads in. Look for him to make an NHL impact late this season and potentially in the playoffs as well.

Leonard has unsurprisingly been named to Team USA’s World Junior Championship preliminary roster. He will likely be a shoe-in to be a major player for Team USA. Currently with Boston College, he has 17 points in 13 games, with 11 of those goals. He should be a beast of a player when he puts it altogether in the NHL.
