Winterton has spent the entirety of the 2025-26 season with the Kraken rather than AHL affiliate, Coachella Valley. He has played in 62 of 67 total games on the season posting four goals and four assists with a +1 rating. He’s proved that he can succeed as a bottom-six forward. While he isn’t the most offensive player on the team, he brings a level of grit that works for him. He won’t have the strongest impact on a fantasy roster but could be a good depth piece for your roster.

Winterton completed his sophomore season with the Coachella Valley Firebirds and also earned his second stint in the NHL. His AHL line of 18 goals, 19 assists for 37 points in 56 games marked a near carbon copy of his AHL rookie campaign (22-13-35 in 58). Across two seasons in the NHL, Winterton has played 21 games and provided one assist, while also wearing a grisly minus-11 rating. He projects as a bottom-six pivot and will likely have little impact on our fantasy rosters should he earn his spot at the NHL level.

Winterton’s numbers have seen a little bit of a slide compared to last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, with eight goals and 19 assists in 26 games. The youngster has plenty of time to hone his craft, and develop both sides of the game, but not the type of offensive showing fantasy managers usually look for.

Winterton doubled his point output from 2019-20 last season, putting up 20 goals and 26 assists in 37 games for the Hamilton Bulldogs. A great puck-distributor with a shot-first mentality, Winterton has a polished toolkit of puck skills on top of a decent defensive game. If he can keep his feet moving more often and get involved in puck battles on a more frequent basis, the 6-foot-2 center would see his stock rise massively. Still, he seems on a good trajectory points-wise and could one day pivot a second or third line.
