Yurov has played in 65 NHL games in 2025-26, registering 10 goals and 15 assists while averaging bottom six minutes. Although he has not made a meaningful offensive impact compared to the high expectations before his arrival in Minnesota, he also has not given his coach a reason to keep him out of the lineup. Even with Marco Rossi injured for a large part of the season, then getting traded to Vancouver, Yurov was not a benefactor of the opportunity for more ice time up the lineup. Considering the clause in his contract to return to Russia if things do not go according to plan in the NHL, Wild fans will be hoping Yurov can make an impact offensively to start the 2026-27 season. Even better would be a standout performance in the NHL playoffs.

Scouting Feed
The Minnesota Wild signed their 2022 first-round draft pick (24th overall) to a three-year, entry-level contract on May 16, 2025. There is an out clause in his contract, which allows Yurov to return to his KHL team on loan if he doesn’t make the NHL team after training camp. That also lasts the whole length of his contract. Yurov has played in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia for the last five seasons with Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In 209 career games with Metallurg, he has produced 41 goals and 47 assists, along with a plus-41 rating. He had eight goals in 61 games in the playoffs, winning a Gagarin Cup championship with Metallurg during the 2023-24 season. Yurov will have an opportunity to make the Minnesota Wild’s roster out of training camp in 2025, preferably as a center, not a winger. Yurov will immediately contribute to your fantasy team if he makes the Wild’s opening night roster. At the same time, his early-season production could be inconsistent as he adapts to life in the NHL.
Yurov is an explosive athletic talent who was drafted in the first round by Minnesota in 2022. Despite only being 19 years old, Yurov took part in his third KHL season for the Metallurg Magnitogorsk, where he posted 12 points in 59 games. Although he hasn’t dominated the KHL league offensively, he is a ressential important piece to his KHL team and will continue to develop in Russia during the 2023-24 season. Yurov is on track to make the NHL in a couple of years and become a top-six forward right out of the gate.
The Minnesota Wild have selected Yurov with the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
Yurov remained loaned to Stalnye Lisy Magnitogorsk of the MHL after November 30 and was only brought back to Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL once the playoffs started. He continued to dominate the MHL, as he is too good for that league, with 36 points in 23 games, and he was an assist-per-game player. The team is very high on Yurov long-term, but will not trust him with ice time and games, as he has played in only 14 out of 17 games. His ice time has fluctuated dramatically, ranging from a game low of 37 seconds to a high of 8:41. However, that eight-minute mark was an outlier, as he has only two games exceeding four minutes and usually averages between one and three minutes. Yurov is not getting the ice time to produce during the playoffs, even as he starts all of his shifts in the offensive zone, as there is nothing you can do during one minute of a game unless you get lucky, but he has at least taken some faceoffs. On the plus side, he is getting playoff experience, which will help him develop mentally. Yurov is what he is, though: a fantastically skilled winger, a strong, fast, brilliant, and bright two-way winger. Quinn
