Stancl came to North America for 2024-2025 after splitting time in the SHL and Swedish J20 the year prior. His WHL rookie campaign was successful, scoring 23 goals and adding 34 assists in 58 games. He connected with the Springfield Thunderbirds at the end of the season, and skated in 10 games and earning one assist.

He’s a big bodied winger, standing 6-3 and is known for throwing his body around. He projects as a complimentary scorer at the pro level. His acclimation to North American hockey and performing well as an overage rookie in the WHL is promising, and though he didn’t light the lamp in his AHL stint, he will get a full training camp and spend the year in the AHL to hone his craft this upcoming season.
He likely isn’t worth spending roster space or draft capital in shallower leagues, but in deep salary cap leagues where multi-cat players are valuable, he is worth a farm stash as we watch his AHL progression.
